You think the engine bay is not going to be the same standard?

I want it satin black out of preference.

1 to look cleaner, and 2, to match the colour coding of the rest of the car.

Satin black is just for muscle cars IMO. Do it as the factory intended and make it the same colour as the car. I know its a shed load of work but worth it if your going for the best zed in the country.

Each to their own I guess:thumbs:

If I had ordered my 1983 porsche 959 in ziegelrot-met with cork leather, I wouldn't expect the engine bay to be cork also.

The Z pretty much is a japanese muscle car in its own right.

From the behinning I always wanted the engine bay in satin black.

The front bumper, wide arches, wing mirrors, rear spoiler and rear light section are all going to be satin black along with all the chrome exterior parts.

I might even do the inside of the light buckets black, and the inside of the bonnet scoop.

It is just the way I wanted it.

The car is going to have 2 black racing stripes down it in black also something like this.

Not to everyones taste, but I like it.

Without taking all that old paint off?

They don't seem to have much respect for your interior. Henry the Hoover is going to have his work cut out, isn't he?

Somewhere - probably a few hundred posts and a couple of years or so ago - this was going to be a "full bare metal respray". Now it seems to have been watered down a bit...?

The body has been taken down to bare metal.

All of the panels are being taken down to bare metal to.

Photos are just for fitment.

Lucky the car has no interior In it except for the dash.

Well, the seats are clearly out but the rest of the interior - including the rear strut tower caps - can be seen even from the few photos that have been posted. The interior rear view mirror is also in place, so I'm sure the header rail trim must be in place as well. Probably the headlining too? The interior was one of the few areas of the car that looked any good, and yet it's open to all the filler dust and is being treated as a storage area...?

You're pitching this story to people who have been there and done that, but the words and pictures never really add up. You write that "the body has been taken back to bare metal" and yet the photos show all front end panels still with old paint and the tailgate still with it's glass installed and gopping great rust holes in it. It doesn't make any logical sense.

The wheels are image brm’s and are test fitted on the back.

17” x 9.5j at rear.
17” x 8.5j at front.

Not sure on offset, but I am going to add 20mm spacers to fill the arches completely as the arches are quite wide.

And in terms of the rear hatch.... that is my old one which was fitted to keep dirt out for the most part.
My good one is not on the car yet.

And the front panels: wings & bonnet are just test fitted.
Still going down to metal.

Just not done yet.

I think part of the confusion might be that Don's talking about what's happening to the car right now but actually posting older photos (to keep us all in suspense or something).
