Really great to have you back Mr Muscle!!

Just last night I was wondering what happened to your car.

Looking forward to seeing her rolling down the road.

I'd still like to see some of the whole car instead of these shots so close up no-one can get an overall impression ...

Still, nice to see it's still being worked on at least.

As I haven't the patience to trawl back through umpteen pages again at the start of the thread can you refresh our memories (and your own probably) about what the plans were for the car? Original spec was it or with some modification - I honestly can't remember!

Going to opt for a bare metal restoration and resorayed in the original copper bronze colour with 2 racing stripes painted on in silver/graphite down the body.

Taking body back to original, then going to go down the route of original rear bumper/lights, original wings with smoothed to the body riveted wide arches, and samuri or airdam equivalent front bumper.

Should be SEXY!!!

Engine and running gear are going to be kept original.

Can't wait to see it finished :S30:

Abridged version: Not entirely stock from memory, some personalised touches and bling, not a fire breathing racer or hybrid z, innovative approach on some areas, nice interior, lots of bodywork required, target to be one of the top Zs in the country. Previously owned by a Lord(?) or some big wig of sorts.

Cost is frankly irrelevant as it is Don's project and will be what he wants it to be. I don't suppose many of us have managed to be faithful to our budgets on any Z related work. After all, we love our Zs and just go more heart over head than would, to a casual observer, seem rational. ;)

Thankyou for the positive comments guys.

Trying to find a painter local to me for a reasonable price at the moment.

Anyone know anyone who paints around the midlands area?

Probably going to be broke by then....

££££££.

But insurance is only £111.14 for the year fully comp insured for £20k.

Nice.

Tax free is good too.

Good job keeping at it!

Looks like the rear arches were welded back together rather than being replaced - will be interesting to see how it comes out after the primer. Are you taking the rear glass out too? Looks like there's some rust under the rubber that needs attention.

It appears to have been prepped with a chainsaw rather than a D.A.

I know the 'Rat Look' is a *thing* these days, but the tickle with the chainsaw appears to have revealed - Turin Shroud-like - the image of an actual squashed rat.

Was it entombed in Isopon's finest by the previous owner...?

So, you know there are places where you're really not meant to laugh out loud or it's a bit odd? Well, one of those happens to be the cubicle in the Gents at work.

Alan, that cracked me up - how the heck did you spot that!?!?!? ROFLMAO
