I might have an experiment mate and let people know the results

Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk

I just made up some aluminium top spring mounts that went into the OG rubber Nissan top mount, but that does away with all the camber adjustment though

If you need some to try just give me a shout

A little more progress on the car! All new balljoints, bearings and coilovers fitted along with fully polybushed suspension arms. The car is now on its wheels and steering!

Safety Devices half cage is test fitted and the brackets will be welded in soon.

Theres a few bits I wanted to ask about. In terms of seam sealer Im sure theres a few places that should have some where there isn't. Should there be seam sealer along the chassis rails? How about between the bulkhead and the front inner wings?

I may have said this before but it's worth repeating - you are making a wonderful job of this car. Well done

Seam-sealer: I don't think so, hopefully a 'body-man' will reply.

I love the colour of this car and as Rob says, it looks fantastic ... you're doing a lovely job on it.

As for the seam sealer, it should have gone on before the paint - that's why they make it 'paintable' !?

On another tack, those are Moog track road ends in those yellow and blue boxes I take it - can you tell me please which side has the left hand thread, the LHS (passenger) or the RHS (driver) - your car being a RHD one ...

Thanks

Thanks guys,

The seam sealer did go on before the paint in most places however there are areas I'm not sure weather there should be some or not? I can put it on after the paint and paint over it again, this shouldn't be a problem if there is some needed?

They are Moog track rod ends. I believe the left hand thread is on the nearside (UK passenger) from memory.

Thanks Rob! I hope it will be a pretty together car when done!

Thanks for your reply re the seam sealer too! Most of it did go on before paint Im just not sure if any joints that should have it have been missed!

That is looking awesome!

You will only be able to drive it indoors on carpet though or it will get dirty!

Love the colour ,its my favourite colour for a zed.
Regarding seam sealer if it is sealed with paint leave but if there are gaps it would not hurt to put some in to protect it.bulkhead to inner wings and chassis rails tops to inner wing.I have seen some sealer that is beige which would save you having to paint over it.
