More youtube craziness! Just found this video about this British guy Amir's heavily modified and stripped down 260z in the US with a tweaked up SR20DET conversion. Pretty damn brutal car.

If I was going to get into the Hybrid Z thing this is the engine conversion that most appeals to me. Its a trend that appears to be picking up in the US with people like Vildini Motorsport leading the way in terms R&D and conversion kits. Its cheaper than the RB and parts and upgrades are plentiful. Not slack on hp either - as the vid shows, 400rwhp isn't too bad...

Seems a great car for track days (but not too keen on seeing it belting around residential/industrial areas).

Like he says, loads of money. Always been a bit sceptical about the hybrid Z thing. For one it does'nt sound like a Z which was always what appealed to me in the first instance. I note he makes a point of stressing the engine is light and far back in the engine bay. Given that a Z has near enough 50/50 weight distribution as standard, I wonder how it handles or is that what hybrids are about, straight line performance? For all that, a very well built car.
