exhaust wise its actually a Spirit Garage (Japan) 6-3-2 exhaust which sounds great but due to its odd design just sits way too low for comfort so we've got one of the new fujitsubo exhausts on order which is due to be released in the next couple of months

I'd advise caution regarding the new 'high (ground) clearance' Fujitsubo system, as it may - like your Spirit Garage system - be tripped up by the fact you are running an R200 diff. The current Fujitsubo system - as with the Spirit Garage system - is not designed to work with an R200 diff and it seems likely that the new Fujitsubo isn't either...

I had a Spirit Garage twin pipe stainless system for many years, and was very happy with it. They fit great, but only with R180 diffs and double-notched front diff mounts.

Now that is great advice. I can't remember your system fitting that low? The diff the reason why?

It fitted just fine with the original R180. Then I went R200 and it had to be mounted lower around the diff to fit. Then I had the pipes modified slightly to fit around the R200 a little better. I think it was a pretty good fit for a proper twin-pipe system.

Key is R200 I think. They are a bit big for these cars really.

Very Interesting, didn't realise that the diff was what was throwing out our exhaust. May have to get in contact with fujitsubo again to see what they say. I'm guessing there is more manoeuvre room on 1976 chassis but having to cut up a new exhaust straight out the box is not ideal....

Great exchange of advise
Maybe next step could be an exchange of photos to show how it fits or a private little meet up to clarify fitment

Why would a R200 be an improvement Sean? I thought people only went to an R200 if they were running a lot more power or want a factory LSD. Nissan considered an R200 was needed for the extra torque of the L28 but in my opinion it was because of the extra weight of the car. Putting your car on a diet or leaving the bird at home will put a lot less strain on your rear end.

You answered your own question John : "I thought people only went to an R200 if they were running a lot more power"

As for the diet, that's why I'm returning to an R180....with an LSD:thumbs:

But not knowing yet what my engine will produce - I merely hope at this stage that it holds up as even though more of a road car, I don't plan of pussy-footing around either.:driving:
