Dude, enjoy every second!! Would love to be 26 again!!!!!!! ;)

But a nice side effect of age is of course that decreasing insurance quote!

Lol whereas I'm here at the ripe old age of 23 with my renewal just coming through at £480 thinking I've not done too bad. When I finally hit 25 I'm sure it will plummet a bit however I'm in no rush :)

Could you recommend a broker to approach for insurance for a 1977 Left Hand Drive 280Z?

There have been a few mentioned throughout this thread but I would recommend Classicline as they give a reasonable quote & don't hike it after the first year like others do.

I would also advise you join the Zclub as a member and get a valuation done as it will save you money on your premium. £15 as opposed to about £30 for a valuation by the insurance company.

Another vote for Classicline. Just renewed mine, exactly same as last year and for Mr. Woodrow’s viewing pleasure - £125!!!!

(With all mods declared too and 3k miles a year that she never does).

Is that garaged and with agreed value?

I have to insure mine for on the driveway, even though it's in the garage 98% of the time, because it's garaged down the road and if it's on the drive over night it wouldn't be covered!

Perks of being an older statesman :smash:

At least I've already used my 3000 miles this year and now having to apply for more!

Yes and yes.

That sucks dude. But if mine is on the driveway after 10:00 pm there is also some strange clause.

Are they proper agreed values? Or an agreed value if the claim goes against a third party?

Once I get my ass in gear and register mine I’ll insure it, even though it’s not used(before you say Mr K!).

In all these situations, watch out for garage clause; that's where one can easily trip if you don't read the fine print.

Yes, nearly fell foul of that a couple of years back. I now have to insure mine as if it is parked on the driveway but it also covers me when it is in my lockup a mile or so away from my house which is most of the time.

And is still insured @ agreed value when on driveway between hours of 8pm > 6am ?
Most underwriters revert to "market value" in such situations, which defeats the purpose of getting the car insured at "agreed value".

Yes it insured at agreed value. I can't find anything that says it reverts to market value or anything less than agreed value in certain situations. I have it insured as if it was sat on my drive all the time but it has been acknowledged that i use a secure lockup garage for most of the time.

I think I will check though for peace of mind although I am 99% sure that it is ok.

previously a few companies do not state what the garage is built with so you could use anything that was sold as a garage but they only stated it must be padlocked not sure if that loophole has been closed

Mine has an agreed value at the moment of 18k, on the drive overnight and in the garage, I was told last year when I upped the value from 16k that once it hits 20k, they wont' entertain driveway coverage.

Bit late for me for this year, in my haste I used Footman James, which doesn't seem to be getting a mention.

Suspect that's one to avoid [emoji849]
