    Don't worry the L28 won't be getting ditched!
    The long term plan is to rebuild it with one of the Kameari kits and keep it as a back up engine.
    I haven't decided on which kit yet.

    I would also definitely recommend that you try to get a drive of a medium power RB engined GTR you might be pleasantly surprised that they are not how you perceive them.

    Absolutely right! It is your car so each to their own and you enjoy it! And I am not a purist - I have done a few things with my car which are not true to the original - but what I would never change are the beautiful, original, simple lines which (in my opinion) cannot be bettered.

    Most of the body changes are functional and aren't just cosmetic.
    The flares allow wider tyres to be fitted for increased grip.
    The rear spoiler should increase down force at the rear, again for grip.
    The front air dam will be fitted with a splitter which, as well as providing aerodynamic assistance, will allow the mounting of a twin oil cooler system fed from the front vents.
    The main radiator will have a condenser radiator and an intercooler in front of it so I don't want to reduce the amount of cool air further by mounting an oil cooler in that path too!

    Love the car, although not to my taste, but I really appreciate the engineering. I keep considering an RB conversion as its just sounds like the perfect choice, brand wise. I've done things a little different with my 1jz and 3uz cars but still enjoy the mildly tuned 260 and the l-series 240z's I've had.

    It also looks like you've had your share of S30s as well as one of Nissan's finest!

    I appreciate the engineering, don't get me wrong, and I don't dislike the car at all, I love it. But I've gone off restomods (of any make) after a few years building and then living with my own. I like the no-hassle original look and life now ... too many scraped knuckles, empty wallets and dashed hopes because of my car - it's coloured my judgement rightly or wrongly!

    I love white Zs as well.

    I know exactly what you mean regarding restomods.
    The biggest headache I've had so far is with the interior, the aircon in particular.
    I looked at loads of different options before settling on what I have done.
    So much test fitting, removing, adjusting, re-fitting, etc, etc!
    Hopefully the engine installation (not including ancillary equipment) shouldn't require too much major fabrication as I have the full McKinney kit and Wiring Specialties loom.
    The suspension should, hopefully, be straight forward enough too, just a case of remove everything then bolt on the new parts (mostly T3 and a couple AZC)!
    I know deep down it's not all going to go to plan though! :D

    I have been thinking about a second S30 project (a plain restoration) but still have to find a suitable car, ideally UK registered.
    I was out bid on one (a silver RHD 260Z) just over a week ago when we lost comms on the (oil) rig that I work on!
    The seller of the second one (the yellow LHD 240Z on ebay) stopped communicating after I mentioned I lived in Cyprus and asked for details from the V5C to do an HPI check!

    Thanks Mark. I cant not love the blue car. Not just the fact that its all my own work but just how nice it is to drive. It swallows up the miles effortlessly and poodles around town with ease. Performs well and will get me where I want to go without breaking the bank (35ish to the gallon on the trips to Spa). I love the supercar performance in the best classic package there is.

    I sampled quite a few last year in my quest to increase the number of keeper. Now settled on the current 4 but would still like an original yellow car if one comes along.

    I bought the 34GTR while the blue car was off the road and loved owning it. Not so much the cost of owning and using it as you need to be fairly wealthy use the car on a regular basis. They have become a bit too expensive for my liking and I just cant bring myself to spend more than £10k on a car.
