Hi guys
New to Z cars and the forum.
Does anyone know what tyre make and type they came from the factory back in 78 for the UK market?
I have been told (from an unreliable source) they were Bridgestone? but not what type. So I need the knowledge and expertise of this forum before I try to replace them.

Thanks in advance
BTW great forum!

Well I have a '78 260Z. I believe that they were fitted with Bridgestones originally, though I do not profess to be an expert.
So when I replaced my tyres recently (they are 205/60/15s so larger than the originals) I went for the Bridgestone Turanza T001 which I have found to be very good. Hope that helps.

From some research I did, the UK 260Z came with:

Bridgestone RD102 "wide" 195/70 VR14 or
Dunlop SP Sport 195/70/R14 "Aquajet" (see images of an unused spare)

I did try Longstone Tyres and some other classic car tyre supplies, but they are no longer manufactured. At the time (about three years ago) they advised nobody else had requested original pattern 260Z tyres so, unless there is some demand, they are likely not to re-manufacture them in the future (this was the Dunlop tyres).
