Future Meet in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance

I was wide awake on Monday morning, still drunk from the wedding reception the night before and watched a programme about the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. These men and women do a fantastic job and require funding in order to carry on doing wonderful work. I'm thinking that as a club we could hold a meet and do something to try and get together some funds for the cause.

I have been racking my tiny brain trying to think what we could do, maybe some obscure record we could break, anything really to have a good time whilst helping an invaluable organisation in our community, infact the programme I watched the ambulance attended an racing meeting (autograss) where a competitor suffered bad burning.

Does anybody have any ideas? This could obviously be opened up to other areas, although air ambulances are localised.

Hope you guys can come up with some good ideas to take this forward!

Fantastic idea Saz, how about a Zed drive from point A to Point B, and make it a sponsored event with an entrants fee....all going to the charity??

Maybe, just maybe I could get someone else who is a big fan of theirs to help out with this. It would lift the profile of the event if someone comes up with a good idea.

I think you will find that treasure hunts and any sort of motoring event needs the permission of the RAC and Chief Constable of any area in which the event is held if more than 12 cars involved. One way round this was to make it a Road Safety Rally which comes under different rules ie you ask road safety / highway code questions at control points every so often but you need to check the rules very carefully.

Will have a word and see what he says. Think the answer should be positive though. I am always up for any charity event.
