European Breakdown cover

Hi does anyone have any recommendations for the above ? So far I have had a quote for a single trip from the AA of which I’m a member of £160 for 18 days. Non member it would be just over £180. There are a few cheaper at 60 and 70 pounds but I’ve never heard of them and the £60 one get slaughtered for its European cover (some real horror stories) Thanks.

I qet "free" RAC European breakdown cover with each Nissan main dealer service. So the 370Z and Juke are both covered.

I've not taken the 240Z abroad yet so never looked into covering that one.

I have all my classics insured separately with Thatchams. I have euro breakdown cover on 1 of the policies and they allow me to swap it between cars at no extra cost. I think it adds around £40 to the annual premium. I used it once in the UK when I had a tire blowout on the M25. They came out quickly and asked me where I wanted to go. They dropped me and the car to North Weald drag strip and said they would come back and take me home later in the day if needed. I ended up getting a lift to have a spare tire fitted so I could race that day and drive home. It seamed they were very flexible and accommodating which is the exact opposite from my experience when I was with the AA who will only follow specific rules.

Just my experiences.

Well that was a bit of a result, Ive just checked my invoice from last year when I had an expensive oil change at our local Nissan dealership and surprise I'm covered for a year of Nissan breakdown which includes European breakdown. The only smallish downside is that you will be recovered to a Nissan dealership which could be expensive. Tbh if I was broken down abroad I would probably want to go there as they may have parts on the shelf and be able to fix it straight away. I hope I don't see the inside of one while we are away but at least Im covered if I need it.

Cool. That's one of the reasons I still service my 370Z with Nissan. You save money at an independent, but by the time you add breakdown you're better off going with Nissan and getting the dealer stamp too.

I never have. You should have a details of the number to call when you got the cover with your service. If you can't find it, I'll dig it out for you.

Just to add. I rang Thatchams to transfer my breakdown cover to the zed im taking to le mans and they nolonger allow transfering between cars so I had to take out a new policy. For euro cover was £51.
