Yes i do , luck was definately on my side today,,,, i had a close one ...I`ve been using the same stretch of road to tune the car (after fitting the exhaust /induction kit etc) and measure times and distances 1/4 mile etc, and when the sun came out briefly today i thought i would have another go ......warmed the engine up to a good temp ,after driving around,,,pulled up and stopped at my mark at the side of the road,,,took the overdrive off,,,selected "L" checked mirriors and launched ,,,,we shot off down this road and i believed that it was safe ,,in the country know one about as i`ve done this many times before ,,,,,only this time as "2" was selected and then "D" , this Landrover just appeared out of the woods onto the the road in front of me,,he`d come through the bushes,,,,,,oh sh&t,,,i thought ,,my car ,ahhh,,,,I now know my brakes are just grrreat , the ZX pulled up in a straight line ,and managed to scrubbed off alot of the speed , but i was not going to stop in time so i went for a gap and this allowed me to &nbsp;steer around him ,,, man that andrenalin rush is awsome stuff,,,i then kept going and pull up down the road , in the pub carpark i used to turn round in,,,he then pulled up and said how sorry he was and explained he`d got lost and didn`t realise the road was so close.....But that was to bloody close for me ,,i went home after that,,,that was the second close shave i had today,,,,i`m still shaking ,thinking what could have happened <img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

I hadn't had my 260Z on the road "properly" for long when I took her to the NASC Nats custom car show for the first time at Herts County Showground (August '01 I think). Approaching from a certain direction you have to go past the entrance and along to a roundabout where you double back. I did this but didn't take into account the fact that a recent slight shower had dampened the road and as I came back off the roundabout I gave it a bit of gas... wah-heyyyyy!!! - instant broadie across both lanes of the road, frantic opposite lock, and a very started BMW driver taking avoidance action only a few yards away. Luckily, he missed me, I missed the nearside kerb and all was well after a swift change of underwear and a mental reminder of the handling characteristics of rear-drive cars. I've been a bit more cautious since that...
