Guys, for those who don't know this is the title of an American series of TV programmes and it's well worth a look. It's not the usual junk but an interesting look at the work of Wayne Carini. http://www.f40.com/page.php?page=Meet_Wayne_Carini

Wayne knows what he is talking about and employs an 'old school' mechanic.

Tonight at 9pm on 'Discovery Shed' there is a repeat of a programme showing Wayne's Tojeiro race car. Well worth looking/recording. The engine was made not far from me.

Another one of the series follows it. This is also interesting but more about the car auction side of things and preservation rather than restoration.

Ye Rob I have been watching "Wayne" quite a bit.
But to be honest I don't dig all that top end classic car Bull**it!
People adding value to cars because they have 40year old cobwebs and 40 yearold cigarette butts in the ashtary.:(
Super rich guys are buying this stuff and they to be honest are unlikely to appreciate the cars and even less likely to drive them, as they should be driven.

If I was judging a car show I would never give top marks to cars that are trailered in.
Cars are machines and were designed to be driven not just to be looked at!!

I can appreciate a great original car and believe if the car is good enough it should be kept that way.

Subtle improvements to a car in my eyes don't detract but usually add value.

Anyway Rant over:D

Rob,
I've watched virtually every episode.
I know he's experienced but he's way off with his auction buys and sells.
He often usually loses his wealthy customers when selling cars on their behalf or they just end up at no sales when reserve not met.

But its well worth the watch just for his magnum 'tash' !!

Having said that my pal trader pal in CA who's also in one his episodes swung by his garage a while back and did say he was very welcoming and a nice guy.

My main point here guys is to watch the Tojeiro episode. I enjoyed it a lot - that sort of thing appeals to me.

Trailering to a show - there were a few at Donington on trailers (3?). Sometimes it's the only practical way to get there, especially if the car is not road legal and has no engine in it! Family responsibilities also mean that 2 seats are not enough at times. It's alright for you guys driving 2+2s

I also know one that was driven there and trailered home.

I am not saying its wrong its just its nice to see cars being used.
It's just a lot of shows seem to have cars trailered just so they don't get dirty etc.
Or if they are so unreliable or they are missing something as fundamental as an engine they should not be getting the top prizes etc.
I also understand race cars can't go on the road etc.

As usual Rob, i missed what you were getting at lol!

I do wonder if Wayne's moustache is FIA or SCCA approved.

......Must be a fire hazard!!

I usually watch the programme too.

In one episode there was a nice looking Datsun S30 (240z?) on his forecourt, in amongst the Ferrari s!
