Broke my driveshaft

900ss;174674]Heres another for you fiddly finger fickers :p

Yes I borrowed the pic but doesn't that look like a piece of machined metal welded to the back of a stock Z flange
Gotta be under a fiver ?[/quote]
Wyn: That's been tried before. You have to be confident the welding will hold, also that the flange is dead centre and in the case of your pic that won't fit a ZX shaft anyway as they are 6 bolt. I suppose you could redrill the shaft coupling if you so desired:eek:

Picky picky picky :D

Tis for use with 4 bolt Z31 turbo shafts, unlike my water main which is universal to all hybrid z's ;)

Steve, don't shout as you will have been asked before...............
but why can't the stock driveshafts be externally reinforced to take the extra load???

I've pretty much decided to junk the current rear end. I will be using the Modern Motorsport stuff as I've used Ross before and all his stuff is very well engineered and I should end up with a setup well over engineered for my usage.

Z32 300ZX TT R230 diff rebuilt with a Quaife and mounted with the MM kit
Z32 300ZX TT driveshafts or the Moser ones MM supply
MM 39 Spline billet stubs
Will also be fitting adjustable rear control arms, adjustable top mounts, and replace/rebuild the rear brake calipers as the handbrake is on its last legs again!. So not much of the original setup staying.

I'll create an update thread at somepoint when I have all the bits in case anybody is interested along with all the other stuff I will be doing over winter.

No intention of selling anything just trying to throw some information out there so folks don't end up down blind alleys

Almost forgot, for those with large pockets ?

Is that a mag rear diff cover or just a funny colour ?

Darren how far do you go check out the last photos of the stub axle flange
Diff identification help? - Drifting forum - Driftworks

I would prefer to over engineer the rear axle and I wanted to replace the rear springs, top mounts, and control arms over winter anyway so I would prefer to throw away the rest while I'm at it and have a setup even I can't break.
And I think modifying the current zed will stop my urges to buy an M6 or build another zed well at least till the summer

Sorted - it appears to be an automated 'subscription date' link that turned you into a website member. Sorry about that.
