AIr filter for turbocharged cars

I need to buy a filter and looking at the prices there is a big difference in the branded and non branded generic types. Are all filters equal or is there a massive difference??

I know some guys just run a mesh screen on the end of the turbo (not good i know and I wouldn't), so how worse can a cheap generic filter be to use?

The one I do like is the HKS mushroom type, any good?

Cheers

I bought a £11.50 cone type filter from ebay, yes I know it's cheap but the engine still produces good power, or you can spend £100+ for a branded one, It's abit of a lottery it would be good to compare bhp outputs with each filter fitted.may do a run with filter on and off at the dyno should answer some questions.

Just do what most of the NA guys do and don't use one :). I use an ITG foam filter, seems to work fine.
