Went to Abingdon carnival sprint with my daughter, Hannah.
2 sprint courses in one day with the times combined to give overall result. 1 course on the runway with a couple of tight chicanes and the second course around the perimeter.
The class for once did not include any 4x4 evo/scooby type cars but was made up of Tr7v8s, Tr7s, e type jag, sunbeam alpine v8, mgb v8, mr2 turbo and a gt3 porsche.
Came away with 2nd in class with the porsche beating me on the 1st course by a second ( annoying because I made so many mistakes on that one) but I was ahead on the second course.
Hannah is getting more confident in the rebuilt car/brakes/suspension and managed to beat the Mgbv8 drivers and was just shy of the etype jag which is her normal target.
Very hot day with 8 runs each so pretty much always had one of us strapped in the car lining up for a run.
although it was running hotter than I like, the car ran beautifully all day. The tyres were probably at the very top end of the temp they could cope with so it was a bit loose, especially on the faster corners.
An amazing event, roll on next year.
