    Hi All,

Much though I love my 240Z, it will never be a daily driver.

It is time to replace my boring sensible everyday car and I'm wondering what to replace it with. Given it lives on a street in London, I can't be too precious about it and reliability is important.

The 350Z is on my short list so a track day or two a year could be possible. I like the Cayman but it is too small for me and thought an E46 M3 is too stealable and probably not reliable enough to leave stationary for 10 days and then expect it to do a 500 mile round trip in a day. 911s are too numerous and too expensive for me.

Any thoughts / ideas would be welcome...

    Thanks,

    Nick D.

Thanks but should have said no diesels. Our Mayor has all manner of plans afoot to tax car drivers.

Nice but a bit too extreme when I turn up for meetings!

Stretch the budget a little, TT RS or 8P RS3.

Alpina b10 touring, the 3.3 manual. Don't get the 4.4 v8 and its head gaskets are expensive(when I changed to a 3.3 it was a better car in every way, still miss it).

    RS6 Avant, v10 one.

    m5 touring.

I’ve got a Z4 coupe, not the m as it’s only half a second quicker to 60 and it has a slippery diff, that’s the only difference and about 8 grand more expensive but more collectible which is why I’m thinking of selling my si and getting one, also will be getting the STI version of the scooby, they are really holding their prices that’s 1 reason I got my current and second one a few tears ago,TT doesn’t hold its value,a short while ago they were the most common second hand car on the market and one one that didn’t hold its price

350z for me is too heavy and emissions mean that its expensive to tax.... what about something like a GT86 or BRZ? Small, fun, tune-able... no idea on the tax :(

    Cayman are brilliant cars!

    London..... classic mini ;) ??

I have always liked the z4 coupes :) look great on track!

My z4 coupe is Yellow, looks the nuts, red 7 on here has the hairdressers version of the m ,359 or 370 should be a good buy as they don’t hold their value, depends if that bothers you really

In my post Z life, I've bought a plaything in the shape of a 2005 Fiesta ST

A 2 litre in a Fiesta is a real hoot, for around £2k they're VFM, and never having had a Ford before I was surprised at the good build quality. Plus you have the novelty off going into a motor factors and they have the bits in stock !!

And if you want to get a bit of weekend fun out of it, you can do a few Targa rallies in it ;)

Yes very big over here at the minute, the weapon of choice is the MX5, to the point where there aren't any cheap one left (i.e. Under £3k). Charging down farm lanes or timber yards and the like is great fun. I got the Fiesta as my daughter is also using it in Forward Only Autotests, plus it comes with 150hp as std.
