280zx cv shafts - which way round?

Can anyone tell me which way round the 280zx drive shafts are meant to be? One side has a longer splined shaft that goes into the diff than the other. I'm just checking to see if mine has popped out again, or if I might have them the wrong way round.

Crown wheel and differential gear carrier is offset to the right side of the car, therefore left driveshaft is slightly elongated to reach.

Thanks Mike, just to confirm, on the left driveshaft (passenger side of RHD car), the splined shaft that goes into the diff is longer than on the right (driver side of RHD car).
