Look what i have bought from Mr Jarman :).

Did you also make up a bracket that hold the pump unit ?. I have cut away some of the pedal box so if fit up tighter.

I've still to drill a hole in the pedal box for the motor mount.
I was thinkin of much the same thing shown there, only I couldnt be arsed to pull it all out again until I'd sussed the prob I already had.
Mind you it prob doesn't help with no mount to support the motors weight.
I see that setup mounts the other side, but when I offered mine up that way it ended up with the motor in the loom area which didnt seem practical to me?
Atleast not with a road/ daily use car.

I have made a bracket up that bolts up to the bottom part of the pedal box (the cross member that holds the pedal stops) using 2 of the original motor bolt holes this must be the reason why DJ has mounted the pump this way round.

So others know why ....... when they make their own :D

To get mine to fit I went about the room issue a diffo way, as it mounts the motor on other hand
Ultimately I guess even more room could be gained, but I'm not going to chance cutting the motors lug off
Atleast not just yet ;)

As you can see below

To get the unit to fit up tight without mods to the pedal box I shaved one of the motors alloy lugs away.
Saying that I did infact cut the clutch pedal stop lug off, which now I realise I didn't need to do lol.
As you've shown, the lower mount is a good fix, but it's still a job i've yet to do.

At last this old chestnut can finally be set to rest

Now the cars rebuilt and on the rd again I had chance to get this steering setup looked at again
After I pulled the lower column and housing apart a few times I spotted it
I could see the lower column inner shaft wasnt spinning free in the upper bush I had made up.
After a little work with a wire wheel I had the shaft spinning just fine
All back together and after a 20mile drive today it seems just fine.
Nice and free without notchyness. Very pleased :)
The end :D
