240Z fuel pipe routing?

US Z's have 4 pipes flowing down the length of the tunnel

Extra return pipe for evaporative canister located towards front of the car - part of USA emissions.

My 260z has a smaller return, is this an early 260z thing?

As far as I was aware all 260Z had two 5/16" pipes, but the parts book shows that the 240Z tank was fitted to 260Z up to 08/73 - so just a very few early cars! You learn something about Zs every day...

Interesting, didn't 260z production start in 8/73? That's pretty cool then, looks like you just pinpointed the production date of my car!

Actually, I wonder why the return line bore was increased? Does it make any difference to the functionality of the fuel system as It's limited right down at the end of the fuel rail anyway?

I guess you could argue that if there's potential for more demand there's potential for more return?

Or having duplicate parts just lowers build cost?
