Mines an .82 as well. There are different ways of looking at lag and it really depends what you want the car to feel like. My engine is nice to drive off boost so I don't want the boost to come in until quite late and to build gradually so I don't light the tires up every time I go near the throttle. With the oversized turbo I'll also be running lower boost to atcheive the power I want. I want the car to be usable and predictable so don't mind a bit of lag and will probably configure boost by throttle angle.

Yes, it will creep and hit boost cut. The ECU will prevent the boost from going above 1bar by cutting ignition when it does. I used a Gizmo boost controller with an output voltage clamp. This prevents the ECU from seeing anything over 1 bar and prevents boost cut. This controller did a great job of preventing boost from going over 1.2bar for the 4 years I run it.

Mine has an HKS Fuel Cut Defender and Greddy Profec boost controller which I guess would be doing the same thing.
Steel internals in the turbos should handle that kind of boost with no issues.

You should have the problems I've had recently.

Have the waiste gates been opened up too? You probably won't have any boost issues. I'm interested to see how these turbos perform.

I haven't been able to find the speedo drive adaptor yet but will let you know if I do.

not sure about the waste gates, I can have a look as the turbos are off but not sure how I would be able to tell?

No rush on the speedo drive, lower down the list that one. Cant even find out what I need looking online for that though.

With the manifold waste gate welding done, I've moved onto the exhaust downlpipe. Finished all the cutting so that's now with the welder along with the turbo to inter cooler pipe. Should be ready Monday so I can carry on.

Does that render your y-pipe and down pipe redundant now? Would be interested if so

The downpipe is available but had to be butchered to fit round steering shaft.

Car is now booked in for a rolling road session at Northampton Motorsport on 30th March. I've been looking for someone I trust to do some power mapping and these people were on the shortlist. Troy is very familiar with the life F88 but when I heard that as from today, Gareth from life racing will be joining the team to bring even more Life expertise, it sealed the deal.

They have spoken about using blunting forth to setup a few of the goodies like traction and launch control which I'm keen to implement.

Just need to get the car back together now!!. I love a deadline :)

Thanks, I will - I need to use up some holiday anyway.
Do you reckon you'll be a full day?
I reckon I could have my jetting about right by then so would be good to get a run on the rollers too.

Rolling road session has been moved forward to 24th as I needed to give myself a tighter deadline and a bit more pressure

Car is all back together now. Dean came over to lend a hand.

We started with the engine mount, which was never good. I had it modified so it sat directly over the zed original mount and today we made the other half that bolts to the crossmember. Once this was done it was just a case of reassembling all the parts. Most went on easy as it had mostly been mocked up at each stage of fabrication. The oil return from the turbo eventually found a route back to the sump and get the feed to sit nice. Turbo water cooling took a bit thinking until we eventually found suitable hoses in my spares boxes and really happy with how they turned out. I wanted everything to fit as neat as possible and I think we attcheived this. I will get everything powdercoaters again and all the exhaust manifold and downlpipe wrapped to get the right look.

Just the waste gate and dump valve vacuum hose to finish then fill it with coolant.

Russell - no, because it wasn't pretty :) the old mount was not a good design, although it worked for 6 years......just. Now the oil return was out of the way I had room to modify it. I still used the old mouths but just doglegd it forward 65mm.

No worries, would be good to copy your design as you have the trial and error experience with it.

I am hoping to get the dash out and the engine bay stripped out this week so we can get the engine in the right place with mounts etc mocked up.

Car is all up and running now. Replaced the injectors with 800cc sard and finished putting it all back together this morning. Run it up just after lunch and went for a 2 hr drive to redo the fuel maps. Car deals and drive very nice.
