240 - 260z rear slam panel ?

Just bought a rear slam panel for a 240z / 260z
I assumed it was the same as a 260z panel
Looking on the net other sites also list it as interchangeable panel, but how?
The 240 slam panel I got is curved on its rear edge, above the lights ?
Whereas my 260 is straight - to allow the lights to attach down onto it?
I can't see how it can fit

tbh i'm not
Spent ages now looking at panel pics trying to work out whats what
So far I've only seen 280z's with straight-er edge, like mine

The slam panels on both my '78 260Z 2+2 and my '74 240Z both have the same curvature of approx 20mm. Neither of these are original panels but both work just fine.

Ok peeps, many thanks

This is what i've got

As I found out today after sanding it back, its been made out of 3 diffo sections !

I assume to keep it straight or just cos it was easier ?

Still if a curved panel fits and works, or is how it should be then that'll do me :)

Wyn, finding things like that makes the tidying-up project so much more worthwhile.

What I can't understand is why did the previous owner botch that panel without sorting out the rusty ends?

Keep up the good work.
