What did you do to your Z this week?

I wasnt too fussed about the white interior, but the wife thought that the black made the cabin look too dark. Glad we went for a white one now, the discolouration from age/exhaust fumes/cigarette smoke looks quite distinguished. Out of interest, what colour is the metal door trim piece running...

What did you do to your Z this week?

Only a couple of pictures of the interior on my phone, I tend to take loads from the outside.

Wired up a fuel Primer momentary switch with swanky green LED to match gauge lights. I couldn't bare to drill a hole in the existing Ash tray, so sourced a spare from Maserati Compound. Car is a 73 240z and came with the twin relay setup for the electric fuel pump which only allowed power to the...

    Looking for an S14 gearbox.

Got one. found an S13 gearbox on ebay apparently without whines or crunches. Considering Im not planning on changing from the stock <150hp, it I have the winter now to get it refurbished and bellhousing, mounting bracket and prop shaft modified. Looking forward to crisper gear changes. I will...

    Looking for an S14 gearbox.

Thanks for the advice folks, I'll keep an eye out and use your save search Jon. Sean, I would consider an S13 if I don't get any luck with an S14, just thought I'd aim for the slightly stronger box in the first instance. I'm probably being a bit impatient as I have only been looking a couple...

    Looking for an S14 gearbox.

Im looking for a replacement box for my 240z as the UK five speed is starting to crunch on down shifts to second. I understand from research that the lack of availability of the synchro makes it difficult to refurb the UK five speed box. I have put the feelers out for an S14 box on breakers...

I think the end of bonnet mirrors seem to look better on the Fairlady Z with the longer snout and covered lights but not as good on non Japanese spec.

    New 240z owner

That is a very good question, and one that will play on my mind until I get an answer from my insurance company. I know that they are not a legal requirement as long as there is a rear view mirror. I will post my answer when I get some feedback.

I agree, the more I use the car, the more I feel the need for at least one wing mirror. Arriving at a destination is less cool when you have to open doors to reverse gingerly when parking. I have placed strategic mirrors in my narrow garage to compensate for no wing mirrors. I have read that...

Thanks folks, unfortunately annual holiday booked at the same time as Donnington, there are a few local small vintage and classic events I plan to attend this year, then maybe go bigger next year. Here are a few photos taken around Clee Hill in Shropshire.

    New 240z owner

Just thought I'd introduce myself as a proud new owner of a 1973, 115 blue 240z. I have been a member since December 2017, watching discussions in the forum. My datsun is the one sold at the NEC CC auction in March. I believe the last owner was a member here, and restored the car very nicely to...
