    240z Front Windscreen Tint?

Hi All, Ricky Evans has a front windscreen in stock but they tell me my existing one will either have a blue or a green tint. I could swear blind it has no tint at all, as confirmed by holding a white sheet behind it! For those of you who have bought from Ricky, were you able to source a non...

    240z Front Windscreen?

Hi, Thank you for your reply. Would you happen to have any contact details for Clive Whitehorse as I am strangely reluctant to go along with my insurer's attempt to make me use National Windscreens!

    240z Front Windscreen?

Hi All, Thanks for your helpful replies and apologies for the delay in posting about the trip. In a nutshell, I covered 2,872 miles over 3 weeks (including a week with family in S. Portugal doing very few miles). The longest day was 465 miles and despite the driver being a bit stiff by the...

    240z Front Windscreen?

Hi All, Just back from a glorious 3,000 mile jaunt around Spain and Portugal and am pleased to report the Z is adored in both countries. Despite weather ranging from 3 to 35 degrees, the car behaved faultlessly. Just one problem - a truck spat up a stone and cracked my front windscreen. Does...

    Importing Rally Car from Europe

Thanks Guys, FYI I spoke to "My Car Import" and they said they would be 90% sure a 1985 325i rally car would make it under the 5% tariff, particularly if the original engine was still in situ. For anyone interested they quoted £2,233 to bring a 325i back from Holland, to MOT and register it and...

    Importing Rally Car from Europe

Hi All, I'm looking at buying an E30 325i rally car from Europe (needs to be LHD), to import into the UK. My understanding is being over 30 years old, it would attract a 5% VAT rate rather than 20%. Then it needs to be registered here to the UK. Has anyone here been through this process...

Does anyone have anything good to say about automatic gearbox ?

Hello, Late to the party but as the driver of an S30 with a US auto box and 2.8 engine, I thought I would add my thoughts. When I bought mine (back in 2014) I had damaged my achilles and so the auto was ideal. Being a large driver, I find the leg room can be a bit of a pain on long trips and...

Buying a Z - What are the key things to look for?

Hi, Welcome to the world of Z's. Having bought a US LHD nearly 6 years ago and having spent a small fortune in bringing it up to a standard that suits me, I would add the following: 1. Be honest about what you want to do with your car. There is no right or wrong answer but knowing this will...

    'Team vache'

Hi Sean, Kudos to you for taking this effort on. You may know of Race Ready Iberian / Iberian Historic Racing, who organise "Gentlemen" races in Portugal and Spain. I think they run under Appendix K but they seem to be growing in popularity and it may be worth you having a word with them...

    3 Way Hose Connector?

Hi Rob, No, I'm using two but from my limited knowledge, it seemed I can only replace the existing with a 3 way connector with the appropriate section removed.

    3 Way Hose Connector?

Hi All, Before bending over and paying the extortionate post and charges from the US, I wondered if anyone here has managed to find a 3 way hose water pipe connector (pic attached) from anywhere else? Many thanks, Nick D.

    Fan Belt Query

Hi All, My 2.8 engine in a 240z currently has an AVX10 x 865 La fan belt that needs to be replaced. I wondered if anyone has a recommended place to buy one from - preferably where I can speak to someone to make sure it is a like for like replacement? Many thanks, Nick D.

    Appendix K Rally Car Prep

Thank you for your reply. Having now spoken to a few different rally specialists, it seems I am better off keeping my Z as is to enjoy on the road and to look for an appropriate rally car that has been through the HTP even if expired.

SOLD: Datsun 240Z UK market RHD 1971 Barn Find survivor. Only 47,000 genuine miles, in Safari Gold

Isn't the issue that most events now require an HTP and compliance with Appendix K? Events like Tour Auto have always been "exclusive" but from what I am learning about the likes of the Rally Costa Brava, they also require this and hence the prep and parts cost a lot more than need be.

    Appendix K Rally Car Prep

Hi All, Having spent the last 4 years getting my US 240z sorted for reliable long distance touring, I am now contemplating ripping it apart to qualify for a HTP under Appendix K. This is with a view to entering the likes of Rally Costa Brava and Modena Cento Ore etc. I wondered if anyone...
