£20,100 Not a lot of money for a nice car but this is what someone was prepared to pay for it. Another day it could be very different.

Totally agree. I have never sold a car for what it is said to be valued at. Maybe I am just unlucky when it comes to selling cars. I think valuations are okay for insurance purposes but may not be a good guide as what anyone will pay.

I have had an unofficial valuation on my car by a classic car valuation employee. Unofficial because I have to pay them to make it official. His valuation is in excess of £40,000. This sounds a lot but classic vehicles are going up through the roof in price, especially over the past year or so...

Just to add that the wheels that are on my vehicle were not the ones that were supplied with the vehicle. the ones that came with it I still have with the original tin hub caps which are in good order but I preferred the alloys to look at. The mirrors were actually mounted on the wings when it...

Thank you. It is a 1971 production model but was registered in 1972 but not sure why it was delayed. I know that the garage used it as a demonstration model for quite a while according to the original owner so this may be why.

    Engine splash pan

I said I might be wrong. It looks as though I am this time. That was the story I was told when they first came out all those years ago when I use to service them etc. in the 1970s.

Values are decided on what the buyer wants to pay. I have a uk registered 1972 240z which is all original no major restoration and no alteration with only the battery and coil being changed. It is basically rust free and in excellent condition and 15 years ago I was offered £25,000 for it. I...

    Engine splash pan

I still have my splash pan on my 1972 240z but I was lead to believe that the very early ones did not have them as standard. If my memory serves me correct they were fitted to aid the cooling as the very early ones were overheating without them. I may be wrong as I sometimes am.

    260z su carbs

Gary, I see you have got yourself some carbs so I pressume you don't want the ones I have but it is okay if you don't. My suggestion is to get a compression check on all of your cylinders to see if they vary much or are down on compression. Back firing and popping on over run may mean your...

    datsun 260z carbs

Hi, I have a set of carbs on the manifold as well and these are standard 240. Before I let these go I am going to vapour blast them and ultrasonic clean them and maybe replate the linkages to make them look good. I will put a before and after photos to show the difference Richard.
