Metal ball bearing in dizzy vacuum tube

couldn’t get the vacuum advance to operate. Thought it was the unit but then found a metal ball bearing stuffed inside the tube.

Anyone have any thoughts, cheap way to disable the unit?

Possibly. But I think there's a couple of BBs like that under the base plate. Might be worth checking that they're all present and correct.

Well had a check all bearing, there seems to be three bearing in there. A little smaller than this one.
The one I retrieved from the pipe is too big to have got sucked through.

Maybe someone used the bearing to cap the vacuum tube when doing the timing and just forgot about it! Anyway, something for anyone else to be aware of if they can’t get their vacuum circuit to operate 🤣
