Help! Hologram under paint!

Been slaving inside the engine bay all day with everything masked and after taking off all the masking I found this nastiness under the paint on the wing that was sitting under masking tape for a couple of months.

The paint is unbroken and dead level. It looks like pigment cancer!!! Has anyone else ever seen this?

My first thought was rust from beneath but then that would surely have lifted the paint!?

Any thoughts?

Doesn’t look like rust as you say. Maybe the paint reacted with the glue from the tape.

Yeah, I thought that too but the tape was all the way along the wing on both wings - so why just this one spot!?

This is bloody odd gents!!! Not only is it 1/6 the size today but the volcano effect discolouration is all but gone!!!!!!!!

Lesson of the day - never leave masking tape on paint work for 2+ months!!!!
