SOLD: 1971 DATSUN 240Z RHD UNFINISHED PROJECT £25,000

@Ian @Mark N Thank you for the comments. It's definitely a daunting projecting and would take someone a beat to pick up where I've left off. I'd definitely be available over the phone etc to help out where possible. It's definitely a solid base for somebody though.

SOLD: 1971 DATSUN 240Z RHD UNFINISHED PROJECT £25,000

What's everyone's thoughts on the ad? Clearly the easier option for me would be to sell as one package but it might be an option to sell as parts.

SOLD: 1971 DATSUN 240Z RHD UNFINISHED PROJECT £25,000

I'm putting this for sale on here for a week or two before it gets posted elsewhere. Unfortunately I’m unable to complete this project due to time and space constraints and I’m having to sell it on to someone who has the time and space to complete it to the standard it deserves. The car is a...

    Project Candy Begins (rb25det 240z)

Unfortunately storage and a working space has been a bust. Balancing headaches with enjoyment, the headaches are winning unfortunately so I made the decision to sell. Will get rid of a big stress. Standby for sales pitch incoming.

    Project Candy Begins (rb25det 240z)

Since I missed out the rebuild of the rack here are a few pics. Everything was stripped and cleaned, new bronze bushes as there was a bit of play in one of them and input pinion bearings. Sandblasted the casing and a luck of paint and good as new.

    Project Candy Begins (rb25det 240z)

Finally back from working away and wanting to back back on with this project. Unfortunately I found myself in a bad situation with my move upto Edinburgh. The work space I'm currently using is getting repurposed by work so I need to get the car shifted sooner rather than later. The predicament...

What did you do to your Z this week?

Rob I think the name has thrown you. It's definitely a mig. Mark, it's a 160amp mig so perfect for thin sheet metal like the datsun. As it's only a 160amp mig you'll be fine plugging it into a normal household socket. There should be a spool of wire inside and you'll definitely need gas and...

What did you do to your Z this week?

I was looking at the AD08R as my top choice but heard the bad stuff about the replacement which put me off. I’m finishing off the suspension next week and trial fitting the wheels ready for the car being moved to its new home in Edinburgh. That's if I can find somewhere to store it. No arches...

What did you do to your Z this week?

I'm hoping so. They get good reviews. I struggled finding good tyres in that size and didn't really want track tyres.

What did you do to your Z this week?

Now I'm back from working away I can get cracking with the Z again. Finally got tyres put on the new wheels. Ended up with Mitchelin Pilot Sport 4.

    Spring Rates with BC coilovers.

I spoke to a few guys who tarmac rally the 240z on a semi regular basis. They recommended the softer 4/4kg springs which is what I've gone for. The 280z is marginally heavier though.

Plastic under bonnet heater tubes - 3D print

Looks good. Could be interesting if we could make some that join to the second opening down for us that are using the top opening for intercooler piping.
