    Damp garage

Humidity and it relativity to temperature is frequently misunderstood. Essentially condensation will occur where atmospheric humidity exceeds 100%. It can happen within buildings including garages and also in vehicles. Careful maintenance of air temperature against background humidity is...

    starter motor

Maybe have a look at MC Alternators & Auto Electricians, Warrington. They sorted a new high quality replacement (not reconditioned) with no issues since purchasing 5 years ago.

    something strange on insurance sites

UK websites might not recognise a 280z given that the model was never marketed here. Try 240/260z but make sure that the changes are fully understood by the insurer. Shouldn't be a problem although I imagine a 280z will have a significantly lower value being import only unless going down the...

UK 260Z 2 seater for sale

Not sure about total production but am aware that 51,000 z's were produced during the year 1973 and a presumption of earlier years might be made. That would have included early 2 seat 260z's (including my own) although only a little over 1% were imported to the UK. Most rotted away within 7...

    Black and White Number Plates

It seems that many modern car 'racers' now routinely remove their front numberplate completely and many others, including euro-boxes have 'smoked' plates. I wonder why? I really don't think that the Police are likely to be remotely interested in black and silver plates on cars as rare as the...

    260z for sale

Although interesting the original thread seems to have been lost beyond the third response and moved to the usual samuri trot. It really sought opinion regarding the quite startling asking price for a Z. Any opinion?

    Value 280zx

I did go along to Buxton on the day. The car was in quite outstanding and original condition (perhaps the the wheels might have stood a refurb). I haven't been able to find a sale price from the auction site (it makes no declaration) but wonder that it was a seller withdrawal. Overall it...

    Value 280zx

Well time will tell. In fairness the car is a RHD UK first registered vehicle as far as I can tell and has unusually low mileage. It wasn't so long ago, perhaps 2014, that a similar car could be bought for £3,500. Damn! I should have clicked 'buy it now !!

    Value 280zx

Plan to attend the Buxton classic car auction tomorrow. Noticed a 280xz 2+2 at estimate £20,000-£25,000 + buyers premium! A Little startled but await the outcome. I wonder that the established 240Z/260Zorder is about to be eclipsed.

    New owner of a 1973 240z!

Looks good. There may be a difficulty in the engine swap dramatically reducing value. That said, it is a survivor and (in my view) a best colour.

    240z Radiator Flush Plug

Try ebay. Enter 'Radiator drain plugs Datsun Bluebird 910 models' or 'plastic drain plugs with washers vintage classic cars'. Just bought from both (around £3.20 each) and both fit perfectly well.

    A 280ZX 2 seater at auction

Looks like an ok car with later 260z wheels. Early 260z's carried the same pressed steel/hub cap assemblies as the 240z but were very commonly swapped out pre-delivery for wolfrace slots.

    240z clock fix

Never seen the 'rally clock' version but then it is JDM. Found this https://www.zclocks.com/rally-clock-identification.html which might interest those who have.

    240z clock fix

They are quite simple mechanisms and its a shame they seem to be so often thrown away. The cleaning sounds good. You also need to apply clock oil to the obvious rotation points once cleaned if it is to continue to run. A precision pen oiler is good for this. They are not (and were never)...
