I'll go and have a good poke around and may try and watch it go up for sale, I'll be at the meeting for the weekend. It looks like a very honest car that would make a great drivers car.

All being well my car will be part of the parade around the circuit on Saturday morning as well EXTRA:D

Whilst you are there have a look at the AC 2-4-6. I love that car even though it's a hybrid (Jag engine). That car will be subject to an MoT under the new scheme - perhaps the reason for the sale. http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/24874/lot/102/?category=list&length=10&page=11

I'll keep an eye out for it, sounds like quite an interesting take on something more vintage. I quite like the idea, it must pull like a train. The old AC workshop is also just down the road from me as well, I didn't realize it was there for years until a Christmas walk one day.

I presume it will suddenly require an MOT due to the engine, gearbox and steering swap which will be classed as significant changes?

Yes because the changes were done in the last 30 years. The original engine was 70 bhp, this one is about 210!

Interesting, so playing devils advocate how would they prove the alterations weren't made over 30 years ago? Surely just relying on peoples honesty...

I'm sure it will be a riot with that much power and those tyre sizes though! :driving:

I think they are suggesting looking at V5 alteration dates?

It's a minefield

Should be under the hammer now. Anyone there? Our friend was going to look but they were charging to get into the auction so he didn’t bother. :(

Saw a very dodgy 240Z there, complete with old man's cap in the boot!!

And a really cool device connected to an Escort on a bitterly cold day.

LOL, yep, you're probably right there Rob ;)

I had a frozen face / brain today even with 6 layers and a ski hat on - so I can't be completely sure I remember correctly ;)
