and those door mirrors look like dogs ears hanging off the car!

why put all that effort into the resto and then stick them on!

the interior looks pretty good and then you notice the door cards!

Unusual if not completely unheard of to find a 260z first registered in the UK during the Autumn of 1973! Love the colour. Just like that on the one I had during late 1974. Interesting to see an intact original front spoiler. Front side indicators are wrong and also fixed back to front. Almost suggest a SA or AU import. Door mirrors don't look good but then early 260's didn't have them in the UK so a personal choice. Refurbished 'Minilites'? Quite a late retro modification and still I think available. UK preference of the period were Wolfrace.

Dissapointing that the engine bay and underside are not presented in favour of very recent body paint. The distance shot of the interior looks ok. Not sure that the selling agent has much idea of these cars. If it is a correct UK car in decent shape why not £29,000? TR6's go at similar money at their top end.

Is it not time to stop trying to down-sell older Z's, whether they be 240's or the couple of dozen UK 260's (still on the road)?

I don't think they've got the suspension dialled in quite right. It looks like it lifts a rear wheel in the corners.

Too funny Jon!!

I am no expert but considering the gear lever it looks like it has an s13/14 gearbox conversion.

But agreed: love the body work but this seems top dollar for the rough around the edges bits.

Having said that, what is the consensus on what it should be worth?

If you rocked up and shook hands on £25k - would that be fair? And do we think the seller will say no? Especially if it hangs about for a few weeks.

29 grand for that which to be fair without seeing in the flesh puts mine and a few other Zeds in the 45 grand mark,I think not, dont you guys, just another chancer that hasn’t bothered doing a proper job,not going to say to much but it does look an ok car but not at that price, too much to put right which wouldn’t cost a great deal, point is if you are going to do a restore do yer home work

That’s my point, every time a Z comes up for sale people on here can’t wait to rip it apart and nit pick without seeing it in the flesh, plenty of Zeds for sale asking silly money,

It's happened here for a long time and I think I commented on it a few years back but yes it's par for the course that the values get talked down

Not sure why when you see what other fairly non-descript cars of that era are making and this has a straight 6

e.g Escorts, Capris, is a bargain.

I don't see how escorts and capris etc are worth nearly the same as an s30 family car.

The car linked above is a patchwork and filler quilt. I can't see how its worth 29k.

The thing is, Escorts and Capris among others are basically part of the national psyche, and therefore highly desirable!

I dont get the values either tho, some really nice cars out there that are definitely worth the coin, as with most marques,
but theyre just too numerous for my tastes.

don't forget all those riding around wearing brand new shells. There's more 'never been welded' barn finds out there than 'forgotten but found samuris'.

I often wondered why the club does this, but I guess it's what we would think if buying the vehicle and it's probably good negotiation ammo for anyone considering it.

As for talking down the values who know what it will sell for versus listing price. Does anyone really know what a Z is worth as much as a Mondaeo or Golf?

Personally I would be tempted to look this one over if looking. Photos never do a car justice and often don't show other flaws. Only one way to find out for sure ;)

I think a lot of the time it’s what the car is worth to them. I can see a world where my car is only actually worth half what it’s worth to me. Think of the reduction in value of a car without a smoke screen!

I’d you like it, the ‘cost’ is worth the ‘value’ to you. Go for it.
