7" Land Rover or Mini lights, not Minilites!

But need the sidelight in the main unit as CV says. Then you need to wire the sidelights (in the front indicators currently) to work up at the main headlamp bulb.

For the rear technically for the MOT you need ORANGE rear indicators post-Sept '66 so you can do this in a couple of ways. Bite the bullet and buy some UK-JDM style rear lamp units - pricey but look fantastic - or try some weird LED way where you have a diff coloured bulb which blinks orange - I'm not sufficiently bright (geddit?) to understand how this works but it does ...

Then you have to wire a separate wire up from the brake light gubbins at the pedal to the rear of the car - if an idiot like me can manage all that, I'm sure you can!

Oh right that clears some things up thanks, I bit the bullet on the rear lights as I didn't want it to look rubbish also iam not sufficiently bright either to understand how it works, tho I got them for like £370 including the bulbs and shipping which I didn't think was too bad.

Iam not sure, I might be an above average idiot as electrics is witchcraft to me! but thanks for the vote of confidence :D

Was it ever registered in Europe? Probably not as it came from a dealer. You want the US title for sure and then whatever the Dutch equivalent of the NOVA forms are I reckon.

Then an MoT.

I don't think the car is originally a Cali car as it would have blue plates - I think those plates are similar to a Mustang I once owned, a car which came to CA from another state.

Saccy will know more on that though ...

Could have been originally sold in Cali and at some point the owner turned in the blue plates for "new" white plates....many cars lost their blue plates as they were sold to new owners.

And yes, could have come to Cali from another state as well during it's life.

Check the warranty book if it is with the car to see the location of the selling dealer too.

Great thanks for the information, that would certainly make it much easier to register. Tho it is odd that it says it needs an IVA ? I suppose ill send it off without on and see what they say :)
Also does anyone know where a good source for bulbs are ?

thanks.

I registered mine just a couple of months ago and didn't need an IVA

In fact, 90% of the form I sent was left blank :)

Have you requested your packup already? That took a couple of weeks to arrive.

As Chrisvega said, it really is very simple. Get it MOT'd, insured off the VIN (AdrianFlux offer this, as I'm sure many do), and then send off the form that came in the Registering an Import Packup

I also went for the JDM rear lights from Japan and they are lovely! I did get stung for another £70 at customs though

That is indeed fantastic news ! when you read the Gov website you start getting bogged down in it all but that clears it up thanks :)
yep Ive got my pack already and its insured, tho I got turned down by an insurer initially because it was left hand drive. Iam just trying to get it ready for an MOT, mostly electrical really but other then that its in pretty good shape.

I got stung aswell unfortunalty, unless iam mistaken it doesnt seem like theirs a great source of parts in the UK so your forced to buy pretty pricy US parts, especilly when you take shipping and customs.

There are various parts available if you know who to speak to in the UK, there's also various people in Europe that can help as well. That being said the vast majority of parts will have to come from the US or Japan as their aftermarket is massive by comparison.

Usually the US will be the default for most due to proximity and language. You get used o the postage/import game however the current exchange rate really doesn't help!

If there's anything in particular you need just shout on here and you'll get pointed in the rifht direction.
