2.5k?????

There’s some really daft values being put on engines, boxes, and various other items on eBay. Lots of blind leading the blind and pulling figures out of thin air.

Guess that ad will still be there in a year’s time...

Just a random thought leading on from this and maybe one for a new thread ;) who has/knows of the highest mileage S30 here in UK or on forum ?

I’ll start, a 280Z passed through my hands that had a known 218k miles with full history from new so no doubts on authenticity, was still on original L28 and in excellent shape so goes to show if they are well looked after and rust not an issue they can easily achieve high mileages.

Highest mileage cars will be warm climate imports (US) where cars have never been off the road for any length of time and average yearly mileages much higher than our own due to large distances between cities, states etc. However, more often than not there is insufficient history with them to be sure of overall mileage, you are just looking at a figure on the odometer.

In the UK I would put money on fact that most S30 cars sold here never saw the odometer turn over 100k miles. Rust made sure the body and chassis failed well before the mechanicals ever did. Hence would be logical to expect there are quite a few relatively low mileage engines knocking about.

The car in question hasn't been taxed since 1990 and being an M reg, it was only on the road for 16/17 years ... 6000 a year 'might' get it close to six figs but I doubt that it is anywhere near ... did they not mileage on MOTs back then? (If any even exist with this car)

My car has done 12799 miles as of the MOT in May 2017, the engine was replaced 15 years ago for an L28.

The original L26 was in excellent condition and Ive barely done 1500 miles with the L28, so the 100000 miles
before the odometer reset plus a bit more, was AFAIK all covered by the original L26, and on the dreaded boat anchors! :D
