THE BIG 50 IS COMING

The big 50 is getting nearer and nearer and before we know it will be too late to organize a big special day for everybody to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Z Car even though there is over 2 years to go

To start the ball rolling lets have some ideas of what sort of day/weekend you would like

Also would anybody be willing to help with the organising of the event

I'm not sure where but how about a few meeting points so people from various parts of the country could choose to join a convoy to the destination?

The parade lap we had for the 40th (I think!) was epic too :)

I like the idea of either having accommodation nearby (camping is fine by me) so we can have a couple of shandys during the day / evening. In fact if you can arrange a beer tent....!

I'm looking forward to it already!

Be nice if they still did car shows as it good place there the go kart track there aswell :)
Just been checking and they stopped car shows there at the end of 2016 so they can fill it with more mobile homes
A shame but plenty of time to get more suggestions in on what to do and where

It's a idea I was thinking we may have to hold it at a show and try get numbers up. There were a lot that turned out to the first samuri meet at Donny

In these days of internet and you tube where people are used to pushing the replay button to 'participate' at home on the sofa witha beer and popcorn, you need something to entice the punters to actually get in their cars !

The new Z might be hitting the showrooms in 2019.
Ask Nissan how they plan to mark the anniversary of the Z. Ask how the club could fit in with their plans.

Count me in, I imagine speaking to Nissan to see if there are any plans would be a good start.

Otherwise a central location that is feasible for everyone, Donington Park is probably as central as you can get to try and be as fair as possible to everyone.

If I can help I'll try to....

I am willing to book the Z - Fest venue again at Nottingham. It was always regarded as a central point in the country and I think we held around six very successful events there. There is plenty of camping and two good toilet blocks. There are now additional bunk rooms for those too old to camp (I stress these are boy scout quality NOT hotel standard and accommodate 6 - 8 beds in each room.) I can probably still get a band or bands and see if the caterer is still available. If this venue is selected I will need help with organisation during the event.

Depending on financial help from our clubs I would estimate we could have a good long weekend (Fri. Sat, Sun) for around £20 per head plus about £3 per night camping fees.
