Janspeed turbo kit

Has anybody used or had a car with the Janspeed turbo kit on, Every now and again they turn up on eBay, I've always likes the idea of having a turbo but since I have a U.K. Car with original engine I'd rather not to go done the replacement engine route.

Are they easy to setup? What sort of power gains? Do you need to modify the engine for the higher compression?

My 280zx had a Janspeed turbo fitted when new. It was down on the registration documents as a Targa Turbo Sports. When I bought the car I knew nothing about mechanics (still dont) but as I now know the previous owners done nothing to protect the turbo and letting it ease down for a bit before switching the engine off. It could fairly shift (wheels would spin in the wet at very high speeds) but the higher the revs went the more smoke poured out the exhaust. Used to get through loads of oil. As far as I am now aware it was the oil seals on the turbo that had failed so if you are looking at one then better to have them checked.
