Things you wish you hadn't done to your Z

We've all no doubt regretted doing some repair or "enhancement" to our cars which, with hindsight, probably wasn't a good idea. When I got my previous Z, it came with a nice set of ARE slotmags. All they needed was a set of nice, suitable tyres. Not the ones I fitted, although they would probably have worked fine on a swamp buggy!

Your car is a similar colour to mine and I too have big tyres on mine (not my 'doing').

I've changed the fronts to give more clearance when on lock.

Rear 215/60/15 (about same dia as original 175/80/14)

Front 205/55/15

If anyone wants any 215/60/15s I will sell my full set of 5 Continentals (virtually no wear.

What size are yours?

I think I came to have a look at your car when you were selling it. You were welding a vw bus at the time?

Can't remember Rob, they are long gone now, fortunately! Probably on one of those buses they use to travel on a glacier

Stop press, just found the old order! Falken 205/70/14's £69 each back then.

Ok, so they are just 0.1" taller than the tyres on the rear of my car but they look worse because the wheels are 14" and mine are 15".

205/70/14 is a little larger than OEM overall diameter by about a third of an inch. 215/65/14 would be the closest you can get though still a fraction over OEM. Next best fit is 195/70/14 which is a quarter inch under OEM, but it seems many people come down to 215/60/14 and 195/65/14 which are nearer an inch smaller in diameter but still visibly suit a 14 inch wheel

Oh man, almost laughing too hard to type! I did a similar thing to an Escort Mexico 30 odd years ago. Who remembers the advert with the Ford Anglia and the 'Carlos Fandango' wheels and tyres?
Rob, yours looks great as the proportions are right.
