What did you do to your Z this week?

Looks amazzzzzing,great garage too :thumbs::thumbs:

Derrick ;)

Can't claim the garage I'm afraid! It's my mates storage and work area - his paint booth is just next door but I am jealous of his workshop! The car looks right at home there.

Done nothing to it this week - however pushed it out of the garage a couple of times to get to house paint! :(

Propshaft let go this time. Got a lift home to pick up a spare from the workshop (over 200 mile trip!!!) and replaced it at Santa pod. Was going to have another run but thought better of it.
I ended up making a propshaft from a Landrover front shaft. Never broke 1 again

Spent yesterday with Dean, doing a few final jobs on his race car. Engine started for the first time and run well. Not far to the finish line now.

I'm running the land rover rear joint and that's the one that broke Ben. I think the actual joint is fine but the flange has an open centre which creates a weak point around the bolts.

I fitted my replacement rear left brake cylinder and cleaned the drum et al up. Thats both rear cylinders and the master cylinder I've had to do this year. And the front calipers are sticking, so they need attention.

Then I managed to bleed my KYB damper back to life and stuck it back in so I can drive the car while I procrastinate about Illumina or Gaz replacements.

Oh, and I've been setting up one of them tracker things, powered off a scooter battery where the aerial used to be.
Battery charges when the car is running and is isolated when not.

That works well, gps signal through the car and tin garage works less well.

Been thinking about painting my rear drum brake covers. What's best to use? Powder coating acceptable?

Liking your style JB! \m/

Messed about with timing and found the car is sooooo good to drive now! Can't believe the car has been set up so wrong in all the time I've had it - despite having been to a "specialist" garage 3 times!

Love catching people on the motorway pulling up along side and yoyo-ing back and forth to look at the car only to then give the thumbs up!

I'm also constantly surprised by how many young guys check the car out - but I suspect it's featured on some computer game.

The Z was finally out for the first time properly this year! Took it to a local car meet - a very nice mix of cars there from old to new.

I feel like I may need some spacers on the front so will try playing around with the look as summer approaches.

Bad end to the morning though as one guy wrote his R8 off trying to show off leaving the meet...

I've still yet to visit a car show in my Z. Struggling to find any up here in West Yorkshire to be honest - but stories like that make me nervous of gunning it whilst leaving...the urge to showboat is too strong for some of these guys, although I do feel for him damaging what is undoubtedly his pride and joy.

You have to go some to kill an R8 - my mate's V10 is glued to the road with that Quattro system. He really must have been cooking it or turned off the safety nets. Still, we've all done it (showing off), so feel sorry for the guy.

I once got very sideways in my S2K @ 60MPH when the VTEC kicked in mid corner and took me off guard on what I thought was a steady throttle - my heart was pounding in my mouth, my chocolate starfish pulsating with adrenaline, my facial expressions calm as a Hindu Cow bluffing but my passenger thought it was on purpose and way cool! I never fessed up ;) just gulped quietly and smiled knowingly when he said "do it again, do it again"!

Ps. Interesting how similar the front of that silver TreVoR is next to you in the photo.

He must've turned the traction off to lose it like he did... Such a shame like you say as literally 30 seconds before I was stood with a group of others admiring it as it left!

Someone else commented on the similarity too, I think the Z looks better though! (the TVR is my Dad's)

Agreed Z looks better, but TVRs sound better ;). My neighbour's Griffith 500 starting up at 06:00 was a perfect alarm if not a perfect petrol head mating call!!!

As for R8 man - poor chap! Explain that to the insurance company :(

At least unlike an S30, there are plenty of body panels / parts available for the R8.

Not sure I'd agree that TVRs sound better. I don't think there's anything better than an inline 6 at revs.
