1978 Datsun 280Z
2 seat S30 coupe

Newly imported from California
UK Registered with 12 months MOT

Completely original and rust free, super solid shell, never welded
Original matching number fuel injected 2.8 litre engine
Automatic - suits the car and if not your thing can easily be swapped out for 5 speed manual ZX box

Runs and drives nicely, this car is UK registered, on the road, ready for immediate use and enjoyment whilst cosmetic improvements can be made as and when convenient ie drivers seat has a couple of tears in original vinyl, dash has usual cracks from sun, paint finish whilst OK for driver standard is not going to win any shows.

Original colour is 305 light blue metallic and retained in door checks, inner rear hatch, inside bonnet and engine bay so easily put back to original colour when next painted.

Brakes renewed prior to MOT and new Falken tyres fitted all round
European spec. rear lights
Recent service history/receipts

Large federal spec. bumpers can easily be removed or replaced with smaller more attractive 240Z style if required

Priced very competitively at £ 9,950, you won't find a cheaper or better value UK registered / MOTd ready to roll S30

Thanks Mike, don't usually advertise on the forum directly, just wait for Sean to start one of his discussion threads, but as you set the trend ;)

I would have done even if you hadn't mentioned my name.....another trader - the forum is riddled with them (no offence Rob - you only had one to sell and you've gone into Rovers so one must pity the afflicted) - we ought to make a list so people know who's who, what and whether they've been sold a dozen times already on ebay....

Right....

shagged driver's seat
lion's-skin carpets
shagged dash
shagged centre console and handbrake gaitor
whale-tail bumpers
Auto box
......blue
"you won't find a cheaper or better value UK registered / MOTd ready to roll S30" but it aint a 240Z so IS it "better value" ?

Honest, inexpensive drive-away car and already on Euro (for now so let's call them UK) plates) - I like it:driving:

Drivers seat and dash shagged, yes as stated, but door cards and passenger seat perfect.
Lion skin carpets are factory original ;) as are bumpers, autobox and colour blue which in factory guise of 305 light metallic blue happens to be a very attractive Z colour imho :p

You won't find a rust free, running, driving MOTd UK regd 240Z for £10k so stand by best value S30 :driving:

Glad you like it though :D:thumbs:

Better to drive than your old spunker of a 240 lad, didn't last long did it after all that work by mr j,think a bond bug might suit you better,if you've driven a 280z you will know wot I mean

His old spunker is going to emerge soon as a beautiful swan ;) and to be fair to Sean he already sings the praises of the 280Z.

Wonder if they did a lhd version of the Bond Bug and did any exports ? Would be a great sight in la France profond.
They have quite a few funny little cars over there. Ligier is one I remember. Someone told me if a Frenchy gets done for drink driving he is still allowed to drive a silly little micro car that can't pull the skin off a rice pudding and gets in everyone's way.

Chris is a top bloke to deal with as well! Half bought an Alfa off him but due to unforeseen circumstances out of mine and Chris' hands the sale fell through.

Honest guy!

IMO £10k IS the correct price for a uk registered fully usable rust free and unwelded LHD 240z. All mine have sold for around that price and that about what my current silver car is worth. I'd probably like it to be worth a bit more but if you look at the typical car of this type that are for sale above this price. They don't seam to sell.

Having said this, I also consider the 280z to be a great car in its own right and appear to be less prone to rust. They feel more solid to drive and being heavier, ride nicer. Therefore I don't see why a 280z should be worth much less than a similar LHD 240z. Yours looks a nice car Chris and good luck with the sale.

Except that (imho), the 240Z is liable to be converted to RHD whether using a donor or not whereas the 280Z will remain LHD - just an important note to remember.:)

what would prevent a 280z from being converted to RHD? wouldn't Woody's bulkhead panel fit?
