280ZX complete rebuild powered by a 3UZFE

Hi guys great forum.
I'm new to the Datsun world, however not new to car modifying as I have been modifying Toyotas for many years.

I bought a 2+2 280ZX off ebay last month with the intention of restoring and modifying it with modern running gear.

I soon changed my mind when this 2 seater coupe showed up, so I bought it :D and will end up breaking the 2+2

Not sure if its on here? I'm sure the owner mentioned something about the Z club!

Anyway, here's what I have planned.

Lexus 3UZFE V8 running of Link Fury+ ecu
Coilovers
Overfenders
Bigger and wider wheels
Front air dam
Ducktail spoiler
Big brakes
Interior update

Hi Jabbar, I saw that 2 seater on ebay - it came with a 2+2 donor car too didn't it?

It did yes the donor car is a 2+2 I haven't picked it up yet though.

I'll be following this with interest.

My 3uz 280z has not progressed very far. In fact it's hardly started as I've only test fitted the engine and box then removed while I try and find a Soarer sump.

I have the rear sump already just not fitted yet, want to finish the wiring and get it running on the stand first.

Doors,glass,rear quaters, hatch, hatchglass,roof all different sizes near enough every thing bodywise and interior trim from the dash back is different size

Most swaps have been performed on S30s, I've seen a few Z32s but rarely the two ZX models inbetween and considering the diffusion of the S130s and how inexpensive they can be to source, perhaps it was the rear suspension that limited people's imagination ?

Oh, got you. I am also getting a few crates full of parts from the 2 seater. I may sell the 2+2 as a running car instead of breaking it!
