A question for the admin team. The views count on this thread has been stuck at 5,462 for a very long time now. Any ideas why it never goes up?

Did a bit on the car yesterday and this morning.

Finished the fuel system so that's the tank, pump, and fuel lines all completed.
Finished all the brake lines up to the flexi hoses. Fitted the servo and master cylinder. Fitted the hand brake mechanism and cables. Steering is also finished now. Just the calliper's and rears to think about next. I'll probably just go with the standard setup until the upgrades arrive.

Getting close to putting the engine back in and a drive round the block.

Must get the interior finalised or that going to hold things up. Been talking to interior innovations about extras they don't usually do and I've just got to give them some more measurements and it will all be on its way.

I just reinstalled the 4 factory lines and brackets that are in as new condition. The forth is a spare that was used to remove tank fumes and I may still use it as such.

I did think about tank fumes but then thought it might cause problems with tank implosion and fuel delivery - obviously not.

Yep. I didn’t want to try and reproduce it.

I did have a 260 with a loud whistling from the back and it was due to the vac pump and partly blocked fuel cap/breather.

Time to think a bit more about brakes. Some disks have arrived for me to play with and I already have some ap callipers which were on my blue car at one stage. I'm still waiting on the rear brackets but I can test fit the disks and work out the spacing required.

I think they're old mg type oe ap calipers.

I think they are actually Range Rover calipers made by ap. not the best option for unsprung weight but then this is a lardy 280z :)

I’m not looking for the best option around so I’m making use of some of the parts I already have. Should be fine for road use look a bit sporty with this type of disk.

Front brakes are now done. The Range Rover 4pots bolted to the strut in the usual way although the lower hole has been spotted on the calliper. The vented z31 disks bolted straight to the 280z hub with no spacer and line up perfect with the disk. The rota rbr’s just touch the paint on a bit of the calliper raised lettering but may touch other wheels.

This wasn't quite as easy as it first appeared. When I tried to fit the other side I found the disk required spacing by around 9mm. On re-inspecting the first calliper I notice the mounting ears had been reduced in thickness by a large amount which is why it didn't require a spacer. So I will require another calliper and spacers. I've just bought a new set of S12w callipers (£136/pr) and will machine the 15mm spacer I have down to 9mm.

Set-up uses 240Z hubs and spacers usually (this for Toyota spaced calipers):

From what I gather Mike, the 240/260 difference is just the thickness of spacer used. 240 is 15mm and 260/280 is 9mm. The option of using 240 hubs on your 260/280 will not be viable as parts become harder to get.
