Sleeper?
Well I say that as my latest project will have a totally stock appearance but with a RB25det under the hood
I purchesesd a suitable rust free vehicle a few months back which had already been converted to RHD.
Thought I should post up a few photos of work so far.
To date the underbody blasted and painted in body colour now I have my fingers crossed the rolling shell will go of the paint shop soon as I would like to have it back painted by January .
Last weekend I picked up a RB engine and gearbox .I am not looking for wild horse power
Somewhere around 3-330hp will be nice.
I shall also during the build be installing p.a.s but haven't made up my mind if it will via the pump or electric.
Also going to install Vintage gen 2 air conditioning kit .

Looks like your moving forward nicely. The RB25 is a nice engine for a conversion and one I had thought about using on a number of occasions. Standard they are good for around 250hp and IMO factory is the way to go for drivability. I had the non turbo 25 and loved it even though it only made around 200-220.

Yes, that car looks in very sound nick. Did it come with everything or was it literally a shell?

Would welcome more pics if you have them ...

Yep car was complete except for bumpers and the odd trim.
Was very pleased when I collected her on the condition of the body (no welding reqd)
You never 100% know with a eBay purchese
I am Planning on building her as a keeper so treating her to some nice stuff.
Decided on a/c Sean after the drive down to lemans this year .
Think the pair of us where nearly stuck to those seats by the time we arrived.

If you had an old original vinyl seat cover which wasn't in in bad nick I'm in the market for one! :D

That's presuming you'll be having new covers ...

Nice project. You should be able to see 280 - 300<< hp on the stock engine with a stock turbo. Not more than that as stock turbos can't take more than 1bar, best to keep the stock turbo to 0.9bar max.

That will do nicely to start with.
Don't really see me wanting more than that .As she will be purely a road car any way
I read that with the following minor mods a stage 1 should give 300hp
I don't want to throwing a ton of cash at it before I have tried it in standard spec

Stage 1 225rwkW (approx. 300rwhp)
Full 3″ exhaust system from dump pipe back
Apexi Power Intake air filter (bolts directly to AFM without an adaptor)
MGP front mounted intercooler kit
Walbro 255L/hr fuel pump with fitting kit
NGK Spark Plugs – custom gapped
Upgrade S1 AFM to S2 type (required on S1 cars only)
HKS EVC-S electronic boost controller
Retune factory R33 ECU to suit modifications

Awesome!
I'm still leaning towards rb25ing mine, will decide once the bodywork is done.
What you doing about sump and engine/gearbox mounts? Fabricating yourself or using off the shelf from McKinney/cx racing?

I haven't decided I was simply thinking about ordering from McKinney / cx .
I recon I could fabricated them ok it just time factor.
Have asked for a qoute for a sump from a guy who makes them on the hybrid z forum
Trouble is the poor exchange rate makes everything so much more expensive at the moment.
Intreasted to hear how others have done there's
Nissan patrol diesel sump ?

Ah, not heard of that one, will have to have a trawl through hybridz. Yeah I needs loads of stuff from the US, hanging fire in the hope the rate will improve with time when people realise the earth isn't going to implode when we're out of the eu

You'll want more eventually, assuming you have the suspension, brake and drivechain suitably upgraded you can easily run more than 300hp. I run mine on low boost which is around 400hp most of the time and its perfect at this power level.

With those mods you can easily see 300hp. You can even see this with the stock intercooler but as that won't suit your car anyway your better to go for a for a bigger front mount, plus the cooler the intake air the better.

I had Pat from Hybrid Z make my sump, its actually pretty good apart from on track the baffling isn't adequate for my needs so I'm actually trying to find somewhere than can make me a new custom sump to my specs with a hardcore baffle setup.

Your old car is lovely, damn, I still want another Z, one just isn't enough.
