They're okay if they're set up right. But the parts are old now and they wear, like anything. Then things get sloppy. They're heavy cars and they have to have PAS on them - or the electric one they do now - mine didn't and suffered for it. A friend has just put TAKEN OFF the R&P steering he put on his and gone back to the original Pitman arm etc but has the electric assist on it and it is fantastic. Unlike the original F O R D power assist back in the day which was FAR too much assistance.
I drove a K-code 66 fastback a few years back (on not great roads) and it was fantastic. Steering was marvellous - rebuilt, with the K-code quick ratio 'box and it was like a new car ... the guy had spent a LONG time getting it right, mind.
