My 260Z Rebuild

Obviously I've not had it in with belts so I can't comment on if it will hit them.... I hope it won't! But here's some photos. There seems plenty of room for the roof lining. The cage can still go down 5mm onto the plates.

So the lowest mount plates on the floor are weld in (come with it?) or something that's been added afterwards?
Does it also just bolt through the rear arch skin ?
Or is there weld on plates under that as well ?

Did you have that made or can you purchase them ?
You can buy them mate. Corby Motorsport I got it from.

Wyn, yes it comes with the plates to weld into the floor and also plates to weld into the rear arch then you bolt the cage into that plate.

I need to check mine again but I'm sure I've got some weird seat belt box on the floor which would prevent a cage from sitting there

The plates for the rear wheel arch's just go on the outside, so the original rear wheel well is between the two plates, you could tack weld the plate on I guess.

The earlier 260 is much more 240 in many ways than the later 260 which is more 280. Things such as suspension etc. Maybe the cage is one.

Yea I'm having the plates tacked in I thought this was the best way

Just looked at my 76 and it appears to be quite different down there

Your 280Z?

My blue car (240) has Recaro seats and the rollcage had to be modified considerabley to mount on the downward slope of the wheelarch. Of course for a serious motorsport event that may not be allowed.

Just to clarify, all US LHD cars have a pocket for the inertia seat belt in this area so you cant fit this cage to any US cars without changing the seat belt and its location. This applies to 240, 260, and 280z.
