One of the best IL6 engines ever, 340bhp and 8000rpm. Can't be blown as its too high compression and you're asking for trouble. I fitted one in a space frame car for 500bhp tonne and 0-100 in 7 :)

nice one Tel, you can always sell of the suspension bits to matt in case he lends his car to another one of his cookie cutter mates

They're a nightmare to map if you don't use the standard ecu, think £1k for an ecu before you take it anywhere.

You can run them on the standard ecu and retain standard diagnostics.

My initial thoughts were to put e36m3 running gear in a 240z. £1500 for a 320bhp N/A engine isn't bad.

Franky your not suggesting i put the M3 engine in my Z lol
is this one of yours

I used the original ECU, kept the ews(matched key chip/ecu/ews box). It runs fine without the diff sensor signal however I did connect it to the ecu in the end just so I didn't have any fault codes showing at all.

Ok Franky you have talked me into it Im going to play with the z for the 1st 6 months or so of next year while im sussing out the m3 conversion :)eek::eek::eek:) what do you all think of my plan which is, set the engine and box on a test stand and transfer the ecu, loom ignition swich and the ews ( anti theft key reader system) i have heard that you can have the ecu flashed so that it is not looking for inputs from unwanted sensors

Terry, think long and hard before you rip apart your lovely and finished L6 car.

If you have the resources why not build a second car, get it out of your system and then decide which to keep.

An M3 hybrid is an interesting build but you are spoiling a great car to do it.
